table for you...Gordon Food Service is hiring an Senior Corporate
Accountant. Develops, interprets, and implements complex financial
and accounting concepts, or techniques for financial planning and
control. Supports the general ledger closing cycle, fixed asset
management, inventory control management, financial statement
reporting, and projects requiring financial
expertise.Responsibilities:
- Researches, interprets, documents and recommends corporate
financial policies, emerging accounting issues, generally accepted
accounting principles (GAAP); provides training to team members on
these policies and standards as needed.
- Ensures a high level of integrity is maintained within the
general ledger and financial statements.
- Completes North American consolidated financial statements with
related charts and graphs.
- Prepares and organizes data for audit including GAAP financial
statements with footnotes.
- Point of contact for external auditors.
- Prepares due diligence, analyses and supporting schedules, and
accounting for company mergers and acquisitions.
- Analyzes financial and non-financial information to identify
trends or concerns, providing recommendations to leadership to
improve present and future financial performance.
- Compiles data to report Company financial information for
industry, bank and government reporting.
- Evaluates alternatives and recommends process improvement
solutions based on business needs and financial analyses.
- Works closely with FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis)
department to support the annual budget and long range plan (LRP)
processes.
- Acts as support role for team and management, and may review
other team members' work.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Senior Leadership.Ideal
candidate will have:
- Must have knowledge of general ledger accounting, cost
accounting and analysis, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
(GAAP) and internal control analysis and implementation. Must know
advanced principles of analysis, reporting, and information
valuation, must understand process improvement strategies, and be
technologically adaptable.
- Experience manipulating large amounts of data.
- Works in a way that supports the GFS Cornerstone Values. This

- Advanced proficiency with excel (pivots, macro's,
lookup's)

- Applies common sense understanding to carry out instructions

- Bachelor degree required Accounting
- Minimum five years previous accounting experience, or
equivalent combination of education, training and
experience.Location:
- 1300 Gezon Pkwy, Wyoming MI 49509
- Hybrid Schedule 3 days in office 2 days remote
- Monday to Friday
