LOCATION: Lafayette, IN

DESCRIPTION: The Lafayette Aviators (www.lafayettebaseball.com), a member of the Prospect League (www.prospectleague.com), are seeking a sponsorship sales focused individual to serve as the General Manager of the organization.

The Aviators play in beautiful Loeb Stadium (https://lafayettebaseball.com/about/loeb-stadium/) which was dedicated in 2021. The team has averaged more than 1,400 fans per game in each of their four seasons in the new stadium.

The General Manager must work well within a highly collaborative environment, strategically managing multiple disciplines, anticipating, and addressing issues, and supporting the overall culture and objectives of the team.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

• Serve as the primary sponsorship sales representative for the Aviators
• Creates, fosters, and maintains a 'sales culture' within the organization which includes other full-time employees, part-time and seasonal personnel as well as student interns.
• Supervises, manages and is responsible for the day-to-day operating budget under the direction of the Managing Partner.
• Interviews, hires, and provides supervision of all seasonal and game day employees.
• Supervises personnel in the creating and maintaining of proper stadium atmosphere to maximize entertainment value for patrons. REQUIREMENTS:
  • Management experience with a baseball franchise.
  • Demonstrated ability to sell sponsorships for a sports organization.
  • Ability to identify and evaluate strategic opportunities and build business relationships.
  • Ability to develop business/brand plans and strategic/ticketing plans.
  • Proven leadership and talent management skills, experience successfully leading, and developing a strong and growing department or division.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skillset - listens to others, thrives in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills including written and verbal; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented operational manager
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; adapts to change in the work environment, manages competing demands and can handle frequent changes.
  • Ability to work extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
