Alsip MiniMill (AMM) was formed in 2015 when Corrugated Supplies
Company purchased the idle lightweight coated paper mill in Alsip,
Illinois. MiniMill Technologies, Inc. took the lead on the
engineering, procurement, and construction in order to convert and
restart the facility to produce 100% recycled Corrugating Medium.
In addition to its profound impact on the local economy, AMM
consumes over 250,000 tons per year of old corrugated containers
and clippings, helping to keep these resources out of our

(EAP).Position Summary:The General Manager (GM) is responsible for
overseeing all aspects of mill operations, ensuring efficiency,
profitability, and a strong safety culture. This role requires a
hands-on leader who can drive operational performance, manage a
high-performing team, and align business objectives with strategic
goals.Pay Range: $300,000 - $400,000**Several factors, such as
individual experience, education, skills, and abilities will
ultimately influence an employee's placement within the pay
range.Key Responsibilities
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety
protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
- Operational Leadership: Oversee daily mill operations, ensuring
optimal production efficiency, quality control, and cost
management.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute long-term business
strategies to drive growth and maintain competitiveness in the
market.
- Financial Management: Monitor budgets, control costs, and
ensure profitability while identifying areas for financial
improvement.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a team of department
heads, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous
improvement.
- Customer & Supplier Relations: Maintain strong relationships
with key customers, suppliers, and partners to ensure smooth
operations.
- Process Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance operational
efficiencies, reduce waste, and implement best practices in
production.Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a
related field (MBA preferred).
- 7+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably
in paper mills, packaging, or related industries.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and
P&L responsibilities.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making
skills.
- Ability to drive a culture of safety, efficiency, and
continuous improvement.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams,
executives, and external stakeholders.Language Skills
- Working understanding of spoken English
- Working understanding of written EnglishMathematical Skills
- Must be able to read & use a non-metric measuring tape
- Must be able to count & perform simple mathematics (addition,
subtraction, multiplication, & division)Physical Demands
- Possess required visual abilities: close vision, distance
vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and
ability to adjust focus
- Regularly required to walk, talk, hear, stand and sit for
prolonged periods
- Ability to tolerate visual exertion due to prolonged periods
working with computers
- Ability to reach vertically and horizontally with hands and
armsWorking Conditions
- Work space is not climate controlled
- Exposure to a normal office work environment
