YOUR ROLE:
As a contracts intern, the employee must demonstrate high potential in core negotiation and management skills. You will have the ability to manage our vendor and subcontract portfolio. The contracts intern will have the empathy to coordinate the collaboration between a large enterprise like ours with Federal Small Business, with all implications related to the coordination between those two different environments.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Supporting the contracts team with basic administrative tasks related to contract management.
  • Vendors and subcontracts management; help with basic vendor and subcontractor coordination tasks.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide support with follow-up tasks. Assist in gathering information for compliance and contract reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to help resolve simple contract-related queries.

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    • Communication Skills: ability to effectively collaborate various stakeholders
    • Detail-Oriented: attention to detail and accuracy in contract review, analysis, and documentation.
    • Organizational Skills: ability to maintain organized files, and manage multiple tasks
    • Legal Knowledge: Familiarity with legal research resources, navigating government websites, basic concepts of contracting
    • Team Collaboration: Ability to effectively collaborate through active listening, clear communication, respect for diversity, and personal ownership
    • Technology: Comfortable working with contract management software, databases, and other relevant tools.
    • Education: in pursuit of a degree in legal studies, paralegal studies, business, or other related area.
    • Willingness to learn: A proactive attitude towards gaining knowledge and new skills, while collaborating with a variety of internal and external teams.

This range is specific to Chicago and multiple factors are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: skill set, experience and training, certifications; etc. This is an exempt position.
